►Facility management (FM) information and technology (IT) management is a core competency that integrates technology, people, place, and process to ensure the functionality, safety, and efficiency of the built environment while aligning with organizational goals. It involves leveraging data and digital tools to make informed, data-driven decisions that improve performance, optimize costs, and enhance the quality of life for building occupants.

►The facility organization is responsible for the delivery of services and for preserving  and maintaining the building structures, interiors and exteriors that house the technology infrastructure.

►To that end, the facility manager must be proficient in:

►The planning, implementation and use of technologies that support the day-to-day operations of the facility management function,

►Automation of intelligent building systems,

►The collection of facilities data,

►Verification of the data,
