CERTIFIED MAINTENANCE & RELIABILITY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM - CMRT
Summary
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) training helps the professional who earns CMRT certification as well as their employer. CMRT Program Developed by the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP), the CMRT certification program produces maintenance and reliability technicians who possess skills that organizations need to increase productivity, improve safety and reduce the human and financial costs of maintaining equipment.

The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) program is the leading credentialing program for the knowledge, skills, and abilities of maintenance and reliability technicians. The certification assesses the knowledge and skills of those responsible for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance – multi-skilled individuals who play a critical role in the success of organizations worldwide. Earning the CMRT credential indicates that you have achieved a level of ability consistent with the requirements for competence on the job as a multi-skilled maintenance and reliability technician.

BK prepares maintenance and reliability technicians to pursue CMRT certification through a five-day Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) Exam Preparation Course.
The CMRT exam tests competency and knowledge of specific tasks within four (4) domains:
  • Maintenance Practices,
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance,
  • Troubleshooting and Analysis, and
  • Corrective Maintenance.

Additional Information

Industrial Maintenance addresses the needs of the multi crafted maintenance technician and presents an all-encompassing view of the field of industrial maintenance, which covers a variety of technical skill areas. These include, but are not limited to, mechanics (mechanical installation, fluid power, piping systems, power transmission, print reading, and safety, to name a few), electrical (electrical theory, test equipment, electronics, the National Electrical Code, control circuits, rotating machines, PLCs, and drives, for example), and welding (gas welding and arc welding). A multi crafted maintenance technician must have knowledge and skills in all these areas. Industrial Maintenance addresses these areas in a format designed with the technician in mind.

Industrial maintenance technicians must be multiskilled (or multi crafted) in order to perform their required job duties. As a result, these individuals must possess knowledge in three key areas: mechanical, electrical, and welding. To facilitate learning in these areas, Industrial Maintenance is divided into five sections: General Knowledge, Mechanical Knowledge, Electrical Knowledge, Welding Knowledge, and Preventive Maintenance.

This Maintenance and Reliability Technicians Best Practices course is designed to give new and veteran maintenance technicians an overview of the knowledge required to become a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT). The course covers the four domains of practice and knowledge proficiency required of a CMRT.

The CMRT exam is available to any maintenance and reliability professional, regardless of educational background or work experience.

The benefits of obtaining a CMRT certification.

  • Earning the CMRT credential indicates that a maintenance and reliability technician is a well-rounded, multi-skilled professional who can work safely & efficiently.
  • Not only do attendees benefit from the knowledge and skills gained in the course, they also gain a globally recognized CMRT certification when passing the optional CMRT exam.
  • When coupled with the output from the optional CMRT exam, an organization is able to build individual development plans for workforce development.
